2nd day, Shibuya...

Met Kristen the other day, today went all over the place with her. She helped me see tons of stuff.

Kristen's adopted from Ireland...grew up in America. Lives in the same apartment block (Bell Wistaria) as me and Simon.

Anyway, we went to Shinjuku first, which was all the way to Shibuya on the Tokyu line (the line that Tsunashima is on), and then a transfer onto another line (Yamanote) to get to Shinjuku. Kristen and I went to a giant Takashimaya department store, we were mainly headed for Tokyu Hands, which seems to be like a Myer, only it was 7 fairly large floors filled with stuff. That's where I went to go buy some adapters (not cheap, the small universal one cost about 1000Y, about $12.50). We headed to Kinokuniya as well, which was across the bridge, I bought a Dan Brown book: Deception Point, it better be awesome, I paid $10 for it, out of the money that I'm running out of.

Then we took a train to Harajuku, which I thought was a very nice area, what I saw of it anyway. Every train station, there seems to be a massive sprawl of shops, eating establishments, department stores, and tons and tons of people. Today was the day I saw the most people, because it was a Saturday. Crowded, a lot like Shanghai actually. Anyway, we ate in this nice little Japanese restaurant, my ramen with meat cost me 700Y, around $9. We then walked to this Meiji Temple, which is not massive, but is surrounded by tons of vegetation; this is unusual. There are not many trees around in all of Japan, because its all been metropolinised (no such word, but you get my drift). Tons of people = less trees and animals. So it was nice to take a walk to the temple surrounded by trees. These are some of the photos I took.
